Gobi Cowl

Gobi Cowl Detail

One of my current favorite yarns is Gobi by Bijou Spun.  This is a combination 70% yak and 30% camel and it is as soft as anything I have ever knit or wanted to knit.

So I got me a skein of this wonderful stuff and knit up this cowl.  I have to say, there is nothing about this cowl that I don’t like.  Pattern — love it (and free with yarn).  Yarn — love love love it.  Buttons — love em.  And the knitting.  This is an awesome cable and lace pattern…not so hard that you can’t watch TV while knitting but hard enough to keep things interesting.  And a fast knit too.  You could knit this up and block it in a weekend.

I got this from a great store in Spokane WA called Paradise Fibers.   In addition to all the usual yarns, fibers, weaving and spinning supplies, they carry several local and specialty producers.  Check ’em out when you get a few minutes!
